As young Christians, we are called to be lights in the world, shining brightly with the love and truth of

Jesus Christ. In today's society, one of the ways we can make a significant impact is through

exercising our right to vote. You might be wondering, why does my vote matter as a teenager? The

truth is, your voice holds immense power, and it can shape the future of our society in profound

ways.

In the Bible, we see numerous examples of God using young individuals to accomplish His purposes.

Take the story of David, for instance. As a young shepherd boy, he defeated the giant Goliath with

just a sling and a stone, demonstrating that age is no barrier to God's power working through us (1

Samuel 17). Similarly, Timothy was a young disciple whom Paul entrusted with significant

responsibilities in spreading the Gospel message (1 Timothy 4:12). These examples remind us that

God can use anyone, regardless of age, to bring about His plans.

When it comes to voting, our participation is not merely a civic duty but also a spiritual one. We are

called to be stewards of the world that God has entrusted to us, and part of that stewardship

involves actively engaging in the decisions that shape our communities and nations. Proverbs 29:2

tells us, "When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people

groan." Our votes have the potential to uphold righteousness and promote justice in our society.

Furthermore, voting allows us to advocate for issues that align with God's heart. As Christians, we

are called to defend the cause of the vulnerable and speak up for those who cannot speak for

themselves (Proverbs 31:8-9). Whether it's standing up for the sanctity of life, advocating for justice

and equality, or caring for God's creation, our votes can be a powerful expression of our faith in

action.

It's easy to feel overwhelmed or disillusioned by the state of politics today. You might question

whether your single vote can truly make a difference amidst the noise and division. However,

remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:14-16: "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill

cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives

light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see

your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Your vote is like a light in the

darkness, illuminating the path towards righteousness and truth.

As Christ-led teens, let us be bold in exercising our right to vote. Let us pray for wisdom and

discernment as we consider the issues at hand and the candidates who seek to lead. And let us

remember that our actions today have the power to shape the world of tomorrow. Together, we can

ignite a future filled with hope, justice, and God's love.

So, let's go forth and vote, knowing that our voices matter and that God can use even the youngest

among us to bring about His kingdom on earth.
